God bless the grass that's gentle and low, it’s roots they are deep and its will is to grow. God Bless the Concrete: God bless the concrete that was laid over me, for it caused me to see I was born to break free. Yes the concrete brought me to God on my knees, for power to rise above that which tried to bury me. See when they rolled the stone over Jesus that day, satan thought he had won the battle in the grave, but there’s nothing strong enough to bring our God to defeat, and he proved once and for all HE WAS LORD OVER CONCRETE. WHEN I’M DONE holding on to my grudges, anger, guilt, bitterness, un-forgiveness then I am free to start healing, to start being restored, to start walking out the victory God has for me. Luke 23:39-43 |The Invitation 3 crosses, 1 bitter, JESUS in the middle, 1 repenting. Jesus didn’t care about their past, He was interested at where there heart was in that moment. WHEN you ARE GUILTY you want MERCY, when you’re not guilty you want justice and exoneration.   ---The Other Side Of Forgiveness--- ((What should you do if you wronged someone—if you need forgiveness?)) 1. RECOGNIZE YOUR WRONGDOING----see it before you say anything more damaging 2. INTERNALIZE the HURT YOU CAUSED that PERSON---put yourself in their shoes… 3. REPENT with GENUINE REMORSE—say you are sorry—truly apologize for the wrongdoing—repent to them and to God… 4. GIVE THEM TIME 5. WALK in UNDERSTANDING & GRACE if they don’t respond the way you hope 6. WORK on REBUILDING TRUST and REPAIRING the damage you caused 7. DAILY choose to RECEIVE and RELEASE God’s FORGIVENESS ---MERCY gets CHOKED when you are NOT MERCIFUL------ the devil cannot stop GOD’S MERCY--- GOD is SO GREAT at MERCY that he won’t use Tuesdays mercy on Wednesday—he won’t use the mercy of yesterday on today or on tomorrow—every new day he has new mercy--- so what he forgave you for yesterday he already forgot that so he’s got new mercy for you tomorrow ---5 Common Rationalizations Of Not Forgiving--- 1. I can’t forgive this because its too big- the harder it is the more it must be done! The bigger it is the more you don't want to carry it. 2. TIME will heal it so I’m not going to deal with it—I’m gonna ignore it, what my father did, mother did, sister did, brother did, college professor did,--time is my plan- flip through the calendars—time heals nothing- it’s still there if you don't forgive it! If you bump into that person you will realize its just as sore- it’s not healing… 3. I’ll forgive when they say they’re sorry! 4. I can’t forgive if I can’t forget---that is completely backwards- the truth is you can’t forget until you forgive- 5. But if I forgive they’ll just do it again ---How To Forgive--- 1. REMEMBER what you’ve been forgiven of by GOD 2. REFLECT on HOW JESUS forgave those who killed him & all of us of our sin 3. RECITE the LORD’S PRAYER and pause on the part about forgiveness 4. RELEASE the NEED to SEE people SUFFER or PAY for it---release the GRIP of CONTROL to GOD 5. CHOOSE to BE a FORGIVER TODAY before any more offenses come ---FORGIVENESS---  1. Is a GIFT to you more than it’s a gift to them 2. Unlocks your freedom (sets the prisoner free only to realize the prisoner was you all along) 3. Commands God’s blessing in your life 4. Feed on a consistent source — feed on your obedience instead of their response — Feed on your actions of faith rather than their affirmation or acknowledgement of your hard work... feed on what GOD SAYS, not what THEY SAY---find nourishment in HIS WORD---what are you CONSUMING--- if you are not happy with where your life is at---CHECK YOUR CONSUMPTION---are you consuming the wrong stuff??? Junk food--- likes, approval ratings, reactions of people, money, promotions, bonuses, etc---CHEAP FOOD---CHEAP CANDY—it’s FAST FOOD---not everything that’s fast is healthy or good for you, oftentimes the longer it takes to get it, the better it is for you – the more it nourishes you in the right way---the more it costs you oftentimes is because it will feed you better… ---I’M DONE LETTING THE ENEMY CONTROL THE INNER-ME-----RECLAIM YOUR IMAGINATION---- TAKE BACK your most valuable asset---tell the devil to GET HIS HANDS off GOD’S PROPERTY----YOUR MIND---take back what used to be fun, playful, excited, exuberant, that used to just be so CREATIVE and WILD—that child-like faith—but now it’s become so STRESSED, ANXIOUS, ANGRY, CONFLICTED, TORMENTED---get your CREATIVITY BACK.John 16:22--- no one can steal the JOY GOD GIVES you. IF you are FACING DOUBTS---TRY WALKING THIS OUT: 1---REMEMBER THAT FAITH BEGINS WHERE UNDERSTANDING ENDS… ---This was the problem for King Solomon in the Bible---for so many millennials and generation x’ers --- there’s this pursuit to GET EVERY QUESTION ANSWERED---but REAL WISDOM is not having an answer to every question--- wisdom is the maturity to leave many questions unanswered and live with the tension of faith and trust in a GOD that is BIGGER than you… 2---REMEMBER THAT RELATIONSHIP IS GREATER THAN REASONING---EMBRACE a real relationship with JESUS-- BUILD ON THE FIRM FOUNDATION----JESUS---keep the main thing the main thing… Don’t major on the minors----a real relationship with God is found in honest prayer, meditation, and writing down those questions to God… 3---PRAY FOR FAITH more than PROOF------We hunger for certainty about the existence of God and the resurrection of Jesus. We want proof. But faith and proof are mutually exclusive. Faith is the conviction that what you cannot see is real. The writer of Hebrews teaches us that “without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him” --Heb. 11:6. So don’t get hung up on needing objectively verifiable evidence of what we believe. Simply ask God to increase your faith. 4---WRESTLE IT OUT IN A HEALTHY COMMUNITY----Athletes need trainers, students rely on mentors, even the President has advisors. If you want to confirm your faith and grow in it, stay close to people who believe. Lots of folk will be willing to fan your doubts into unbelief if that’s what you want. But if you want to believe, seek out believers. 5--SURRENDER IS GREATER THAN CERTAINTY--- it's better to live in a surrendered posture than a know it all attitude... Eccl 12:13. MSG.
