- Breakfast With Jesus
Apr 21, 2022 • 1h 17m
Did you miss Pastor Greg Laurie's Easter Sunday message? Well, good news! You can now watch it in its entirety right here. Have you ever felt alone, abandoned, or deserted? You don’t have to be! Jesus was born into our world—He walked this Earth, felt our pain, and even grieved with us. Jesus entered a world of volatility, instability, and crisis. In short, He entered a world much like ours, lived a most extraordinary life, and died a most extraordinary death. But what happened afterward changes everything. And it changes you. Because of one event called Easter, we don’t have to fear death, and we can have the assurance that we are never alone. You don’t have to feel alone. You can have a personal relationship with God, and it happens through Jesus Christ. This is what we’re celebrating at Easter. ___________________________________________________________________________ Thank you for watching, tune in live here on YouTube every Sunday and Thursday for more messages of hope and encouragement from Pastor Greg Laurie! - What the Cross Means To You (Good Friday Service)
Apr 16, 2022 • 48 min
Today is Good Friday. Why do we call it that? It was not very ‘Good’ for Jesus and all He had to suffer. Answer- The ‘Good” of Good Friday is what Christ did for us. He paid for our salvation by dying on the cross in our place. He came to pay a debt He did not owe because we owed a debt we could not pay. Join us for Good Friday services as we resist this classic message from 2014 titled "What The Cross Means To You" ___________________________________________________________________________ Thank you for watching, tune in live here on YouTube every Sunday and Thursday for more messages of hope and encouragement from Pastor Greg Laurie! - A Hell of a Message (With Greg Laurie)
Jul 21, 2021 • 45 min
Jesus spoke more about Hell than all the other preachers of the Bible put together. Hell was not made for bad people. Hell was created for the devil and his angels. The idea of divine judgment—that people can end up in Hell—is probably one of Christianity’s most offensive teachings, but we cannot ignore it just because it is uncomfortable to talk about. Practical Principles In Hell, people suffer. I know that’s a hard thing to wrap your mind around, but it’s taught in Scripture. The word torment is used four times in the text of the story. Once you are in Hell, you cannot cross over to Heaven. Physical death is the separation of the soul from the body. When we pass from the visible world into the invisible world, it’s a one-way trip. You’re conscious in Hell and fully aware of where you are. It is clear from the text that people in Hell understand that they are there. The rich man in the story wanted to keep his brothers from coming to the same place and would warn them if he could. Relevant Reminders If you don’t believe there’s a God and you don’t believe there’s an afterlife and you don’t believe There’s a final judgment, what constraints do you have? Why not just do whatever you want to whomever you want, whenever you want, because there’s nothing to pay for later? Teaching about Hell is important. The moment you leave this life, you are escorted by angels into the presence of God. When nonbelievers die, they don’t go to purgatory. There’s no such place as purgatory. Nor do they go into a state of soul sleep. That doesn’t exist either. Nor are they reincarnated as a higher or lower life form depending on what kind of life they’ve lived. Applicable Actions If you believe in a judgment, it will affect you in the way that you live. Belief in the afterlife affects us in this life as well as the next life. The belief in Heaven is a motivation to live a godly life. Belief in Hell is a motivation to not live a wicked life. The gospel is a universal declaration that Hell is not God’s desire for anyone. For God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. God loves you and He invites you to Heaven. But if you don’t want to go to your Father’s house, you don’t have to. He won’t make you. You decide where you’ll spend eternity by what you do with Jesus Christ. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Thank you for watching, tune in live here on YouTube every Sunday and Thursday for more messages of hope and encouragement from Pastor Greg Laurie! - Childlike Faith (With Greg Laurie)
Jul 17, 2021 • 47 min
One of Jesus’ most famous statements is this: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3 NIV). What exactly does this mean? To understand this, we need to look at the context in which Jesus is teaching. He had just interrupted the disciples’ argument about who would be the greatest in God’s kingdom when He made this statement. And in order to drive it home, Jesus had a little child stand up in their midst. According to Luke’s version of this story, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it” (Luke 18:17 NIV). That is a fascinating statement. Conventional wisdom would say that to know God, a child should become like an adult. But according to Jesus, an adult must become as a child. The child is the model, not the adult. Jesus’ point was that we need to have childlike faith. This does not mean we need to be childish, of course. It means we should be childlike. There’s a difference. To be childlike means to approach the things of God with a humility and a trust and a faith that is simple and pure. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Thank you for watching, tune in live here on YouTube every Sunday and Thursday for more messages of hope and encouragement from Pastor Greg Laurie! - The Secret To Contentment (With Greg Laurie)
Mar 3, 2021 • 1h 58m
My friend Max Lucado says, “The good life begins not when circumstances change but when our attitude toward them does.” We think if we had a nicer car or a bigger house or a larger salary or a new face or new body, then we’d be content. Writing to the Christians in Philippi, the apostle Paul said, “Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little” (Philippians 4:11–12 NLT). Paul was in difficult circumstances when he wrote these words. He wasn’t spouting theories from an ivory tower. He was under house arrest, writing from the school of hard knocks. Yet Paul found contentment because he rejoiced in the Lord. Earlier in Philippians 4, he wrote, “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!” (verse 4 NKJV). He didn’t say that we should rejoice in circumstances. Sometimes that’s hard to do. But Paul did say that we should rejoice in the Lord. - Do You Want Happiness Today (With Greg Laurie)
Feb 27, 2021 • 1h 17m
Researchers have consistently ranked Scandinavians as the happiest people on Earth. But even if you aren’t Scandinavian, you can still find happiness. According to the Bible, if you know God and discover His plan for your life, you will find the happiness you’re searching for. It doesn’t come from seeking to be happy in and of itself. It comes from knowing and seeking the God who created you and discovering His plan and purpose for your life. C. S. Lewis said this about happiness: “God designed the human machine to run on Himself. He Himself is the fuel our spirits were designed to burn, or the food for our spirits were designed to feed on. . . . God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.” The Bible says that if you hunger and thirst after righteousness, then you will be happy. Jesus said, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” The word blessed also can be translated “happy.” This world will promise us happiness, but it simply won’t deliver. That’s because this fleeting happiness that we experience ebbs and flows. It comes and goes, depending on what our life is like. If things are going reasonably well, then we are fairly happy. But the moment things get difficult, we are no longer happy. And that is not real happiness. Writing in a Time magazine article, Gregg Easterbrook said, “Love, friendship, family, respect, a place in the community, the belief that your life has purpose—those are the essentials of human fulfillment, and they cannot be purchased with cash.” Happiness is never something we should seek directly, according to the Scriptures. It is always the result of seeking something else. If you seek holiness, then you will find happiness as a result. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Thank you for watching, tune in live here on YouTube every Sunday and Thursday for more messages of hope and encouragement from Pastor Greg Laurie! - The Secret To Happiness Revealed (With Greg Laurie)
Feb 25, 2021 • 1h 28m
We see in the Bible that happiness is always connected to holiness. We also find that happiness is not something that should be sought outright; rather, it’s a result of seeking something else. And that something else is holiness. Although the Declaration of Independence refers to “the pursuit of Happiness” as one of our “unalienable Rights,” pursuing happiness in and of itself is generally a futile search. As philosopher Eric Hoffer said, “The search for happiness is one of the chief sources of unhappiness.” Many people today who are searching for happiness never will quite have it. There are people with a lot of accomplishments, a lot of fame and a lot of money who live miserable, empty lives. They’re searching for something but in the wrong way. Happiness is a byproduct of holiness. When you get your life in order, happiness soon will follow. That is why unbelievers can never know true happiness. They will go after the world’s cheap counterfeits, which are shallow. The world’s concept of happiness depends on good things happening. The Bible tells us how to find and maintain holiness, and as a result, happiness, in our lives. And in Psalm 119 we have God’s original design. First we’re told that if we want to be holy, then we are to walk in an undefiled way: “Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord. Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts. They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in his paths” (verses 1–3 NLT). ___________________________________________________________________________________ Thank you for watching, tune in live here on YouTube every Sunday and Thursday for more messages of hope and encouragement from Pastor Greg Laurie!
