Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 1, 2026
We want Sermons to be a quiet place to listen, save, and return to teaching that matters. This policy explains what we collect to make that work and the choices you have over your information.
Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Sermons collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website, mobile app, and related services.
By using Sermons, you agree to the collection and use of information described in this policy.
Information We Collect
Account information: When you sign in, our authentication provider, Clerk, may collect identifiers such as your name, email address, phone number, profile image, authentication tokens, and other information you choose to provide during sign-in.
App activity: We collect information connected to your use of Sermons, including sermons you like, playlists you create, sermons you add to playlists, preachers you follow, listening progress, recently played sermons, onboarding choices, and search activity.
Content information: If you create playlists or add playlist descriptions, we store that content so we can display it back to you and keep it synced across devices.
Device and usage information: We may collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages viewed, referring pages, dates and times of access, and app performance information.
Cookies and local storage: We and our service providers may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, protect the service, and understand how the app is used.
How We Use Information
We use information to provide and maintain Sermons, including authentication, playback, playlists, likes, follows, recommendations, search, and synced listening progress.
We use information to personalize your experience, show relevant sermons and preachers, improve search results, troubleshoot issues, protect accounts, prevent abuse, and understand how people use the service.
We may also use information to communicate with you about account, security, support, or service updates.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information with service providers that help us operate Sermons, including authentication, hosting, database, analytics, monitoring, and media delivery providers. These providers are allowed to use information only as needed to provide their services to us.
Some sermons or media may be delivered from third-party sources, such as embedded video or audio platforms. Those services may receive technical information when you play or view their content and may process it under their own privacy policies.
We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or a reasonable request from public authorities, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect Sermons, our users, or others from harm, fraud, or security threats.
If Sermons is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Your Choices and Rights
You can choose whether to create an account. You may use parts of Sermons without signing in, but features such as playlists, likes, follows, and synced listening progress require an account.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. You may also manage some information directly in the app by updating playlists, removing saved sermons, unfollowing preachers, or signing out.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights, including the right to request a copy of your data, request deletion, object to certain processing, or appeal a privacy decision.
Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide Sermons, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security.
If you delete your account or request deletion, we will delete or de-identify personal information unless we need to keep it for legitimate business, security, or legal reasons.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Sermons is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
International Transfers
Sermons may be operated from, and information may be processed in, countries other than the country where you live. These countries may have privacy laws that differ from the laws in your location.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may provide additional notice in the app or through another reasonable method.
